Some Internally Displaced Persons
Some internally displaced persons in Delta and Bayelsa states who were rendered homeless by the devastating floods that sacked several communities in the Niger Delta have been blessed with various gifts items by the NNPC/CHEVRON joint venture.
The two organizations said the gesture was to demonstrate their concern, care and love for the safety and wellbeing of the people. They stated that the host communities who were affected by the flooding deserved to be accommodated and assisted as they contend with the reality of such an unfortunate natural phenomenon.
Among the items donated to the displaced persons are mattresses, food items, toiletries, medicines, provisions and other relevant materials useful in mitigating the sorrows and pains of the beneficiaries.

Relief Items for IDPs
It would be recalled that the indigenes of Delta State particularly those in Warri South West, Warri North and part of Bayelsa State were among the worst hit by the severe floods that ravaged the whole of Niger Delta and other coastal parts of Nigeria.
The aftermath of the flood saw several communities submerged by the intense flooding, many lives were lost as well as properties and husbandry. Many residents of these areas had to relocate to higher ground to seek refuge and safety thereby becoming internally displaced persons.
