This is as the state government plans to start the registration of over 10,000 youths for entrepreneurial training on various vocational skills and technical business capacity development.

According to the governor, the registration for the different vocational programmes would commence from Monday, January 6, 2020, at the different local government council headquarters while those interested in creative technical business clinics would approach the State Ministry of Trade and Investment for training sessions with experts on business development techniques.

Emmanuel remarked that the initiative involves the setting up of entrepreneurship centres in the 31 local government areas to develop talents and skills in hairdressing, welding and other vocations, adding that the programme would also focus on the training of the youths on the management of small and medium scale businesses.

He said his administration has initiated a partnership with Google, NIIT and other agencies to provide training and certification for youths in photography, cinematography, robotics and other related fields, hoping that the venture would ensure financial independence of many youths by the end of 2020.

Emmanuel said his administration would expect a speedy response of individuals and groups in the registration exercise on skill training and business capacity development, maintaining that the initiative would create job opportunities for the youths and women while calling on the youths to cooperate in the implementation of the plan to allow the selection process on merit.
